BEIJING, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- Brazil and the United States made a goalless draw in the halftime of the Olympic women's soccer final here on Thursday evening.

The two sides presented a fast-pace but lackluster performance in the first 45 minutes as they both tried to take control of the midfield. Brazilian star player Marter managed to slip from the American defenders who manmarked her several times but failed to deliver the ball into the net.

The United States hit the crossbar by a corner kick on 16 minutes.
