NANNING - While chasing a knife-wielding man, a policeman accidentally shot dead a spectator when firing a warning shot in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Saturday, local police authorities said.

　　A policeman in Fengshan County fired a warning shot when he attempted to stop a knife-wielding man, who was running after some people at 3 am.

　　A spectator on the fifth floor of a nearby building was shot and died later in hospital at 10 am.

　　The victim was identified as Luo Qimin, 42.
