Shandong cyclists grab gold, silver from Chinese national players

Jiang Wenwen and Liang Jing from Shandong province of China finished one-two in women's 3km individual pursuit final, leaving a bronze for the national team at the 2007 Chinese National Track Cycling Championship here on Monday.
Jiang Wenwen beat her teammate Liang Jing in the final to win the first gold for Shandong, which was also the second of this tournament. Jiang and Liang took the first place in the qualifies to ensure the gold and silver for Shandong.
"I was just doing the normal thing and my level is fine,"said Jiang, "We had systematic training before this tournament and worked really hard on it."
Wang Li from the Chinese national team defeated her teammate Li Meifang to make herself a bronze.
"We two didn't try our best in the match, and we are not quite familiar with the field. This match was only a rehearsal for next week's National Tournament." said Wang Li. |
