Old program lands groom-to-be in hot water

An engaged steel worker in Jinan, Shandong province, struck trouble with his wife-to-be after a local TV station reran an old matchmaking program.

Many friends and relatives saw the repeat and told his fiance he was looking to find another woman.

Chen then had to explain that the TV station was just re-broadcasting old footage.

Two years earlier, Chen's company had cooperated with a local TV station to organize a group matchmaking program for 20 single employees.

Chen had almost forgotten about it because no one had ever responded despite it being broadcast several times.
