A train derailed early Tuesday in China's northern Hebei Province, but no injuries were reported and all the carriages remained upright, according to Beijing's railway authorities.
Traffic is expected to return to normal before the end of Tuesday, said an official with Laishui County of Hebei.
The train was going to Beijing from Hancheng, a city in China's northwestern Shaanxi Province. The last six carriages of the No.1164 train came off the rails at 7:36 a.m. in a suburban area less than 100 km from the capital, said an official with the Beijing railway bureau.
Two other trains, which ran on the same track, were delayed due to the derailment, said the official.
The bureau was investigating the cause of the accident, he said.
