An elderly woman who was believed dead for years turned up in front of her children thanks to the help of police in Yanzhou, Shandong.

On January 28, police in Yanzhou found an elderly woman on the ground, affected by the cold and starvation, and took her to the police station. In talking with her, police found her suffering from a mental disorder and having difficulty expressing herself. They were able to determine the woman was from another city in the province and called her family about the news. Days ago the woman's children arrived at Yanzhou and took her home. They said their mother had left home 13 years ago, and believing she was dead, they had a funeral for her six years ago.  (Qilu Evening News)
